SlimPerfect is one of the first companies we featured after launching our site, so we’ve been fans for some time. I’ve reviewed everything from their Tankinis and SlimSkirts to their SlimDresses and SlimCapris. Their swimwear even went with me on trips to England and San Diego! This summer, I received one of their newest pieces to try out for size – the Vintage Polka Dot Swimdress.
As soon as I saw this, I knew I needed to have it. I love polka dots – I own multiple polka-dotted dresses! – and it looked like a really flattering cut. When my complimentary Swimdress arrived, I was eager to try it on, but the Oregon weather was not cooperating with its rain and drizzle! Fortunately, there was a break in the clouds today and it turned into a warm, gorgeous day. The perfect time to suit up and hit the beach!
Here’s a photo of me on the beach in my Swimdress earlier this afternoon. I’ve gotta say, this is my favorite item that I’ve ever tried from SlimPerfect. Not only does it really fit my style, but it is so comfortable. It has little polka dot biker shorts built-in under it, so no need to worry about “Wardrobe malfunctions” or tug at your suit endlessly while you’re at the beach. Since it has an empire neckline, it’s really flattering – it does hug the body a little, but it provides a lot more flowing fabric to drape the body than the vast majority of swimsuits.
I love how it’s styled to look like a dress – I do my physiotherapy walk on the beachfront promenade, and I felt comfortable wearing this like a dress as I walked around. It’s great for warmer weather – in fact, I must confess that I am still wearing it as I sit here typing this! The only critique I had on this piece is that the shoulder straps appeared to be a little faded. When I looked at them, I determined that this was probably the elastic seam showing through.
SlimPerfect has some great stuff, both for the water and the gym. When I was still able to workout prior to my knee injury, I used to wear some of my SlimPerfect items as gym clothes, and I actually had someone ask me what I was wearing and where they could buy it because they loved how it looked!
