Day 9:

Jai started the day with a Breakfast Burrito, followed by a Toasted Ham and Cheese for lunch. This is a sort of turnover sandwich – Jai said it was not bad, but not his favorite of the lunches.

Toasted Ham and Cheese

For dinner, he had a Salisbury Steak with Macaroni and Cheese with a Fudge Swirl Sundae for dessert. “The macaroni was OK, though you could tell it was diet food,” Jai says, “But the steak was really good, and was a generous portion. It’s in the running for my favorite dinner!”

Nutrisystem Nation 10-Day Challenge: Weekend Recap

Nutrisystem

Here’s what Jai has been enjoying on Nutrisystem over the last few days:

Day 3:

Breakfast was a Garden Vegetable Omelet, which Jai said was not bad, but a little plain and felt like a small portion.

Garden Vegetable Omelet

Of the rest of the day’s meals, Jai said: “I accidentally cooked a dinner for lunch today, so I ate a lunch for dinner to make up for it. Both were really good!”

Spinach & Cheese Stuffed Shells

Jai dubbed these Spinach & Cheese Stuffed Shells as “Quite good and filling”.

Roasted Vegetable Pizza

He said the Roasted Vegetable Pizza was “Really good, but I wanted more when i was done.” Probably because you ate your lunch for dinner, silly boy! ;)

Dessert was a creamy fudge bar, which Jai said was “OK, but I liked the sundae best so far.”

Day 4:

Friday morning started off with a Breakfast Burrito, which Jai said was so good he ate it all before he could take a picture!

Breakfast Burrito

Lunch was a Steak & Cheese Melt, which Jai particularly enjoyed:

Jai was invited to a family dinner on Friday evening, so he went “Off-program” for one meal. He noticed how going off the program for just one meal made it more challenging to go back to the Nutrisystem portion sizes the next day.

Day 5:

Saturday’s breakfast was a Ham and Cheese Omelet, which Jai said was “Very good, and more filling than the Garden Vegetable Omelet”.

Ham and Cheese Omelet

Lunch was Meatball Parmesan Melt, his favorite out of the lunches so far.

Ravioli Formaggio was on the menu for dinner, and Jai found it to be very tasty and filling.

Day 6:

Yummy Homestyle Pancakes were on the menu for breakfast:

Lunch was a Chicken Fajita Melt, which Jai said may take the Meatball Parmesan Melt’s title as “Favorite lunch”!

Jai had Chicken Alfredo for dinner, which he said was “Very good, although you can tell it’s low calorie. But this is made up for by large portion size!”

Nutrisystem Nation 10-Day Challenge: Day 1

Nutrisystem

Tuesday was the first day of Jai’s 10-Day Nutrisystem Challenge. He started the morning off with some french toast for breakfast, followed by a chicken quesadilla for lunch:

Each meal is labeled with “Breakfast” “Lunch” or “Dinner”, so you know what to eat when.

For dinner, he opted for Glazed Chicken Tenders:

Jai spent the first day learning his way around the program, creating an account on the Nutrisystem website and reading up on how the plan works. Nutrisystem has an app that he downloaded to his Android phone, which he can use to track his food, calories, and fitness. One important thing we learned is that the plan actually allows you to eat one snack after each meal – one dessert per day is included in the Nutrisystem package and the other two snacks are to be supplemented from food you already have in the house. Jai hadn’t realized this until after he had finished dinner, and realized that he had only consumed around 630 calories over the course of the entire day – which explained why he had felt hungry all day! Now that we understand better how the plan works, I think day 2 will be easier.

As for the food itself, Jai enjoyed all of it – both the taste and ease of preparation. He even got to have an ice cream for dessert!

Nutrisystem Nation 10-Day Challenge

Nutrisystem

Like so many people, my biggest obstacle in eating right is always time. When life gets chaotic – and when is it not? – it can be hard to make the time to eat well. I’ve always wanted to try Nutrisystem for this reason – quick frozen meals with the calories pre-counted, and all I have to do is heat and eat? Sign me up!

So when Nutrisystem invited me to join their 10 Day Challenge, it was the perfect chance to give this program a whirl. Except for one small snag: The challenge was scheduled to run this week, and I’m still in England! So my fiance and Contest Corner guest writer Jai volunteered to do the challenge in my place. Although I’m sorry that I won’t have the pleasure of trying the food myself, I think it’s actually great timing for Jai to do this while I’m away – after all, what better “Bachelor food” then pre-made meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks?

Nutrisystem

Jai received this big box of Nutrisystem food in the mail. He started off his 10-day challenge this morning with some yummy french toast for breakfast:

French Toast

Any diet than involves french toast is OK in our book! :)

We’ll be keeping you updated throughout the challenge with photos and reviews of the food and overall experience on this program, so stay tuned!
