Have you ever had a “Mobile mishap”? Maybe your phone has gotten lost, dropped, or broken? If so, Asurion would like to help with their protection packages. And to cheer you up after a phone catastrophe, they would also like to offer one lucky Contest Corner reader their choice of either a $40 Amazon or iTunes gift code, so read on!

Amazingly enough, I can’t think of any mobile mishaps that I personally have had. Jai was just commenting that my first-generation iPhone is in pristine condition – I try really hard to be careful with it, and I’ve had the good luck of not dropping it or being victimized by theft. And my pay-as-you go cell phone is seven years old. In cell phone years, that’s like an eternity or something. 😉 I’ve been lucky, but I’m the exception to the rule. It seems like everyone I know has a horror story about a phone getting its screen cracked, misplaced, or lost forever. Asurion offers protection packages through most wireless companies that can assist you with securing your data, getting tech support, or replacing an MIA phone as quickly as possible. Click here to check out their fact sheet for further information – this is a Word document in .docx format.

Giveaway Time!

One lucky Contest Corner reader will win their choice of either a $40 Amazon or iTunes gift code delivered to their email! Use it to offset some of those mobile mishap expenses or just cheer yourself up! 😉 Entry is easy via the Rafflecopter form below:

  1. My 3 year old dropped my phone in the toilet, while on vacation. Thankfully after blow drying it and letting it dry out, it still works.

  2. Knock on wood, I haven’t really had any mobile mishaps either, but of course that’s probably because I always get the free phones that are years behind on technology. I’m sure that as soon as I bought a nice smart phone, something would end up happening to it! I guess the worst mishap I’ve had is that I always forget to charge it or leave it at home–neither of which do me any good when I need to call someone!

  3. I can never find my phone at the bottom of my purse. I can never get to it before it goes to voicemail.

  4. My phone once ran out of battery when I was stranded with a broken down car in the middle of Nebraska!

  5. My phones seem to random begin having software/hardware problems about a year after I get them.

  6. The mishaps go all to my husband who looses his phone, every year. He is on his third phone now. I am going to permanently attach it to him soon so he does not loose it. This is a very expensive habit.

  7. I dropped my cellphone just as a party was about to start. It wouldn’t restart or show any signs of life. Then about an hour later I was able to reboot it. That was 2 years ago and the phone still works (more or less!)

  8. While buckling my kids into their car seats, I had placed my phone ontop of my car roof. We went on our way and it wasn’t until we returned to our house, that I saw my phone laying in our street, smashed.

  9. I have had my phone, not once, but twice, fall in my son’s bath water…same phone as well. Sigh, it happens. Thank you for the chance to win.

  10. Hubby was surf cast fishing in the ocean. Got hit by a heavy wave. His cell phone did NOT like the salt water bath. Stopped Dead.

  11. I had a mobile mishap when I accidentally laid my phone on a counter where there was something wet and water got in the speaker and I couldnt hear on the phone.

  12. My mobile mishap happened when I dropped my iPhone and cracked the screen.

  13. Last week, a bunch of water from my water bottle spilled into my phone’s audio jack. It’s still having issues turning on correctly :-/

  14. I let my husband use my phone – he dropped it then accidently stepped on it.

  15. I washed my phone in the wash machine. Forgot to take it out of my jeans pocket before washing them!

  16. i dropped my phone on the floor at just the right angle to shatter the screen.

  17. My son dialed 911 on my iPhone and the 911 operator called me back to let me know. He wasn’t even 2 yet when he did that. I’ve never broken my phone but for some odd reason my phone cords keep breaking, Oh and I have replaced my iPhone case 3 times from it being dropped.

  18. I’ve dropped my phone on pavement I don’t know how many times…but it still works for now!

  19. I have only had my cell phone replaced once ever! And it happened because I was letting my daughter use it while we were outside and she dropped it just as my son was backing up in his car and his back tire rolled over it. She has her own cell phone now.

  20. I haven’t had one but hubby dropped his in a parking lot and shattered it. I’m just glad that it was his work phone or he would be without a phone. Thank you!
