On a side note, this would have been the first giveaway drawn using the “And The Winner Is…” plugin. However, there was a discrepancy between the number of entries the plugin showed and the number of comments on the page – the plugin was showing one comment less than actually appeared on the post. Because of this plugin error, I used Random.org to pull the winner instead. I’m going to look into this further and see what might be causing this discrepancy in the the plugin – I will keep everyone posted and let you know what system I end up with.

If it’s worth anything, on the mobile site, there was one less comment than on the desktop version. I believe it was the one quoting an article or something like that?
Alex, that’s exactly what I suspect too – it’s likely not counting the pingbacks/trackbacks. That’s very interesting that the mobile site displayed one less comment too; I have a feeling there must be a setting in WordPress that controls how pingbacks show up, so I will look into it further.
