You may recognize Chris Rene as a finalist from the first season of The X Factor US, but this hardworking singer-songwriter has been making music since he was 12. Since his TV stint, he’s been signed to L.A. Reid’s Epic Records and is unveiling the music video for his first single, “Young Homie”, which you’ll probably recognize both from the show and the radio airplay it’s been getting! Get to know Chris through our exclusive interview.
I’m inspired by: Music & strong people
I realized I wanted to play music: @ age 12 when I saw my brother & my best friend starting to play instruments
One word I would use to describe myself: Unique
The best part of being a musician is: That I get to touch peoples hearts & inspire all generations @ once.
Right now I’m most excited about: Getting back in the studio, even though my 1st Album on a Major Label is done. I have 6 more songs I’m ready to produce & Record Right now! Boooyaaa

I write songs with the best of them, truly, purely, from my soul…. For your Soul,
Most people write songs to make money & pay back the money they owe to the label, but I do it for the Strength passion & Message…I’m a Soulja of Love Like the Sade Song.
One of my happiest moments was: When I went to the Boardwalk with both of my Sons for 8 hrs. riding roller coasters and eating Corn Dogs & Cotton Candy.
My music is: Alive & Has a Soul…. My Music is A Heavy Weight Boxer……My Music Is Healing…….My Music is for Everyone….
In ten years: I SEE MYSELF HAPPY AND AT PEACE WITH ALL THINGS. I SEE MYSELF AS AN AMBASSADOR FOR MANY MOVEMENTS, I SEE ME BEING ABLE TO HAVE THE RESOURCES & ABUNDANCES TO HAVE A REHAB & MANY PROGRAMS TO HELP PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO SUFFER FROM ADDICTION & OTHER DISEASES….I’LL BE IN MOVIES, AND FEATURE ON MANY OTHER ARTISTS’ RECORDS. ITS GOING TO BE A WILD JOURNEY.

I just love Chris Rene’s music which have a UNIQUE TYPE OF SOUL to it. Trouble is a great song and Young Homie is going to be a CLASSIC for sure..I wouldnt be surprised If YOUNG HOMIE gets nominated for a GRAMMY!!!

I feel strongly the same as Bev…Chris needs to be photographed more. He’s so gorgeous with a unique look to him. He would be a photographer’s dream in mags like Rolling Stone and GQ. No more teens as sex symbols…PLEAZE! Chris Rene is the real deal.

He has a great attitude on life. I like his perspective! My favorite time in my life is spending with my family too! I am glad he is grounded enough to know that family is more important than anything!
Chris Rene is simply what all music should be about. Put down on paper what’s in your heart and soul and then sing it to the world. He does it in a way that’s like not other and it allows you to connect with his message and where he’s coming from. As far as I’m concerned, the man’s a lyrical and musical genius. And just as REAL as they come.

What he is all about is all truth and that comes through in his music, all his heart and soul out there when one listen to his music you can’t help but be moved by it. He captivates me right from the audition till today and just been amazing to go on this journey with him. I really wish that what he envisioned in ten years time will come true for him cuz that’s what he deserves for turning his life around and inspiring so many people out there. He is an amazing souljah of love indeed!
