Dramamine – New Products & Sweepstakes!

Dramamine

If you travel, then it is more than likely that you’ve packed or bought Dramamine on occasion. This OTC motion sickness remedy is a household name and a go-to for anyone who feels a bit seasick on long trips. Have you ever traveled without Dramamine and regretted it? My most memorable story is actually the first time I ever tried the product. In 2008, we drove from our home in Oregon to Phoenix, Arizona, and I had a slew of medical issues going on with esophageal spasms at the time so I was sick as a dog. There’s nothing quite like pulling your car over in the middle of nowhere so you can be sick in the desert. When we reached a gas station, I ended up buying some Dramamine to see if that would help with the sickness. Since then, I’ve ended up purchasing it many times!

If you have a similar tale, then you could share it on Dramamine.com for a chance to win a cruise! To enter, just click here to visit the website and tell them in 50 words or less why you wish you’d had Dramamine on a recent trip. The sweepstakes runs until September 30th, 2012, and can be entered once per day per household by US residents 18 years or age or older. You can view all the rules here. The grand prize winner will receive a week-long cruise for four people, ARV $8,000. Four finalists will take home a prize package containing a Kindle Fire, a neck pillow, headphones, an eye mask and Dramamine.

In addition to this contest, Dramamine is introducing some new products and formulas: Dramamine for Kids, and Dramamine Less Drowsy. I actually like the original “Drowsy” formula because it helps me sleep on long flights – 90% of the time I use it as a sleep aid rather than for motion sickness, since I (Thankfully!) don’t get car sick often. But it’s awesome that they have a less drowsy formula available because it would be an ideal choice for the majority of people with motion sickness. After all, unless you’re flying, you probably don’t want to sleep! Likewise, I think the children’s formula will come in really handy for parents. Dramamine isn’t a magic cure, since a lot of things can contribute to nausea, but for me I feel like it helps enough that I definitely make sure to take one if I do end up feeling queasy. I received samples of all three Dramamine formula varieties, and I’m so happy to add them to my medicine cupboard because it’s a product that I already buy and use. I wasn’t able to personally review these two new formulations yet, since I’m not feeling carsick and I don’t plan on making myself nauseous just to try them out. 😉 But I know they will come in very handy!

Dramamine can be found in your local grocery or drug store. As with all medicines, consult with your doctor or pediatrician before use.

  1. My youngest grandson gets car sick so I’ll tell my daughter about this. Motion sickness can definitely ruin a fun time.

  2. I hope the less drowsy variety works as well as the original. I have an awful problem with motion sickness, but hate how drowsy dramamine makes me feel. Going to give the “less drowsy” a try.

  3. My MIL takes dramamine when she flies down to visit us! My kids don’t get motion sickness, but if they do, I am happy to know I can give them something!!
