Easton Corbin - "All Over The Road"

Country singer Easton Corbin is gearing up to release his sophomore album, All Over The Road, this fall. This hitmaker is following up his self-titled debut, which made it to the #1 spot of the country charts in 2010 and guarantees that this record will be eagerly anticipated by his fans. I received a promo copy of this album to review over the weekend, which was my first exposure to Corbin’s music.

This whole album is very positive, with upbeat, happy songs about the fun of falling in love and chasing your dreams. I think these catchy, hopeful anthems will resonate with people who want tunes that get them moving and make them feel good. The title track, “All Over The Road”, is a country classic that narrates the story of a man talking to a police officer after getting pulled over. He’s been driving erratically, but it’s not what you think, officer – it’s love that’s got him swerving on the road! It’s a lighthearted tune that I think will get fans smiling.

Other standouts include “Lovin’ You Is Fun”, which lives up to its name with a cheerful, upbeat melody, and “Hearts Drawn In The Sand”, the perfect end-of-summer tune that evokes the smell of sunblock, the warmth of the sun – and the slow fade of summer love. There’s also a good dose of down-home twang on this record with cuts like “A Thing For You” and “Tulsa Texas” – Easton Corbin’s voice has a deep, rich sound that suits country music perfectly. I think any fan of this genre will enjoy this album, as it delivers consistent tracks from start to finish; after all, he wasn’t named “Top New Country Artist of 2010” by Billboard for nothing!
