The official soundtrack to the upcoming film Friends With Benefits drops today, July 19th. A fun and funky accompaniment to this comedy starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake, the soundtrack features classic cuts along with some new favorites. I received a digital copy of this record to check out, and it’s everything you would expect from a soundtrack to a hip comedy – a collection of upbeat, lighthearted tracks, this disc boasts 90’s favorites like Semisonic’s iconic “Closing Time” and “Jump” by Kriss Kross, as well as reinterpretations of a few classics, like the hip-hop version of “New York, New York” from Ray Quinn feat. Ultra Love, and the Philip Steir remix of Steppenwolf’s “Magic Carpet Ride”.
