New Music Spotlight: Genevieve Goings – “My Telephone Number Is”

My Telephone Number Is...

I was sent the single of “My Telephone Number is” by Genevieve Goings to review as a influencer with Entertainment New Media Network. I have been compensated for this post but my thoughts and opinions are always my own.

As you know, I’m passionate about music, which is why I love featuring new artists on Contest Corner with interviews, videos, and album reviews. And when a musician works to create music that is fun and educational for children, the whole family stands to benefit. I’ve featured some fun Disney artists on here before, and among their alumni is Genevieve Goings, who is best known for her work on Playhouse Disney and Disney Junior. On June 3rd, Genevieve will release her debut solo album for kids, entitled Do You Know? This record is full of fun and bouncy tunes aimed at teaching children how to do different tasks. I had a chance to listen to the first single, “My Telephone Number Is”, which was released on iTunes this past Monday. Have a look at this super fun ’90s-themed video:

Only ’90s kids will get this!

Like Genevieve, I’ve had the same landline telephone number since 1993, but I must confess that I still have yet to memorize my cell phone number. I needed this song as much as the children too! I won’t lie, I just sat here with my iPhone listening to the song and singing along my phone number to try and remember it. 😉

Do You Know? promises silly tunes to get your kids moving and learning – the “FUN-damentals”, as she calls it! The next single, “Gotta Do My Business” is a hilarious reggae track about using the bathroom. It’s actually a really catchy song with a great beat – it’s the best bathroom music I’ve ever heard, and for once, has “Potty mouth” lyrics that you’ll want your children to hear!

More About Genevieve:

Genevieve Goings has spent 10 years teaching toddlers fundamental fun. From her
debut on Playhouse Disney as the hip singing train conductor on the educational
interstitials known as “Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve”, through her remaking Classic
Disney sing-alongs again with Choo Choo Soul,  and voicing  the learning bumpers
featured on the new Disney Junior network. Genevieve is now welcoming a second
generation of viewers and listeners with the release of her first solo album doing what
she does best – teaching and entertaining children.

“Do You know?” is a new presentation path for learning for young children age 2-7
year old. It features songs and videos aimed at helping preschoolers learn their phone
number, telling time, putting themselves to bed, and the more personal things like
hygiene and dealing with potty training in a dignified manner.  This new inspiring set of
songs is fun for the whole family and will have you, as parents and teachers, singing
and dancing along.

“Genevieve has a gift of bridging the age gap between children and their parents/
teachers. Her songs and their rhythmic beats get everyone dancing, singing and
giggling in what is bound to be the most entertaining learning experience for growing
toddlers since Sesame Street.”

  1. cutesy all the way around!! Will teach my son our numbers this year – it’s important ya know!

  2. That is so smart… I can remember every song I hear but remembering numbers is not so easy. This is also a great way to help the kids learn our number.

  3. You’re right, ONLY 90’s kids will get that video! And I LOVE IT! Our Furby’s were so much cooler than those today! 😉 But I love how she totally throws her own childhood into the video! She’s so easy to listen to as a person! <3 her in our household.
