Nutrisystem Week 22 Weigh-In #NSNation

Nutrisystem Week 22 Weigh-In #NSNation

We have an especially good Nutrisystem week to report!

Beeb’s Weigh-In:

Beeb's Weight - Week 22

Starting Weight: 164.5 lbs
Week 22 weight: 138.6 lbs
Total Weight Lost: 25.9 lbs
Goal Weight: 110 lbs

My measurements this week were 10.5″ on the arms, 38.1″ on the chest, 32″ on the waist, 38″ on the hips, and 18″ on the thighs. That’s .5″ down on the waist, 1″ down on hips and
.5″ down on thighs, with the arms and chest remaining the same as last week. Once again, we forgot to take our measurements on Saturday and ended up taking them this morning!

Jai’s Weigh-In:

Jai's Weight - Week 22

Starting Weight: 217.5 lbs
Week 22 Weight: 176.4 lbs
Total Weight Lost: 41.1 lbs
Goal Weight: 158 lbs

Jai’s measurements this week were 12.8″ on the arms, 39.4″ on the chest, 38″ on the waist, 37.5″ on the hips, and 21.8″ on the thighs. That’s .5″ down on the arms, .2″ up on the chest, .1″ down on the waist, .4″ up on the hips, and 1″ down on the thighs.

This week was great for both of us. I lost 2.4 pounds, which officially pushed me out of the 140s and past the 25-pounds-lost milestone. YEAH! Meanwhile, Jai bounced back from the last two weeks, when illness and pizza parties resulted in gains each week. Not only did he lose it all this week, but he got down to lower than he was two weeks ago before the gains started – putting him at his lowest weight yet. Woo-hoo!

In some ways, I was surprised that I did so well this week because it was so chaotic. It was smidgen less intense than the week prior, but still full-on. We had everything from rats boring up through the floor and leaving droppings in my office first thing Monday morning, to light fixtures burning out and sending sparks all over the kitchen, to dealing with car trouble, doctor’s appointments, and of course, mountains of work! There was a ton going on, both in our personal lives and in the world, so it was a very full week indeed. I happened to receive a shipment of both cookies AND wine for review, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t demolish them both! It really is interesting to see what a difference exhaustion makes to my diet. If I feel well rested, I can indulge in moderation, but if I’m totally wipes…ZOMBIE BEEB EAT COOKIES!! RAAH!! 😉 After 3 boxes of cookies and a bottle of wine, I was rather concerned about gaining this week. Imagine my surprise to notice midweek that my weight was lower than ever! That settles it, cookies and wine is the way to go! 😉 I’m kidding, of course. I believe the real reason is because I skipped pretty much all my SmartCarbs/PowerFuels and protein shakes during the week – not intentionally, I was just running around so much that I missed most of my food. Then surprise, surprise, I’d devour a box of cookies in the evening. So, I think I got lucky with both things balancing themselves out. I really want to make sure that I don’t keep missing food early in the day, but you know how old habits die hard; I’m working on it!

On the upside, I have been eating lots of veggies every day so I know that helped! What a difference it makes having all those lovely, pre-washed, peeled veggies sitting in the fridge leftover from my party. It’s silly, because peeling a carrot doesn’t take much time, but when you’re in a rush it’s so much easier to grab something that is ready to go. If you’re having a hard time getting your veg in, I would highly recommend buying a big old bag of carrots or celery and chopping it all in one sitting so it’s ready to go – see if it makes a difference, because it really does for both Jai and I.

As I mentioned above, I had a doctor’s appointment this week, and when the nurse took my weight she said, unprompted: “You’ve lost since you were here last! That’s a lot of weight to lose in one month!” I told her a little bit about what program I was doing and she was really impressed. It felt good to have a medical professional noticing and praising my health and weight loss efforts!

In terms of exercise, I did not do much this week short of a walk and some housework. I was so caught up in everything else that I let it slide. Jai did much better, going for some runs and doing abdominal exercises and lunges around the house. He didn’t work out every single day, but just getting over his cold and getting back on track with a more steady diet and more overall activity made all the difference. We all know that these coming holiday months will pose their own unique challenges for those of us dieting, so if you have a couple of weeks that don’t go so hot, just remember that sometimes all it takes it one good week to set it right – so don’t get discouraged! Neither Jai or I are doing perfectly this month, because like you, we’re just trying to survive the holiday season – but we’re doing our best, and with all the guesswork and prep taken out with Nutrisystem, we can stay the course and recover from any setbacks. It’s all about a lifestyle change, and as stressful as this month has been, I’m doing a better job of taking care of myself than I ever have during a Gift Guide! This stems both from the diet – normally when I’m this slammed with work I just bury my head in a takeaway box – and from the diet inspiring me to take better care of myself. I’m trying to make overall changes, like getting more sleep and taking breathers when possible. I’m pretty overbooked so I probably won’t have a day off in the near future, but I am trying to at least take some time out in the evenings to decompress. I feel really good about where everything is going and can’t wait to see what next week brings!

As members of the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Panel, Jai and I will be receiving the Nutrisystem program free of charge in order to share our honest opinions with you. Always consult with your physician before embarking on any weight loss or exercise program.
