How do you keep track of your passwords? These days, it seems like we all have a million passwords to remember – from logging into your email to ordering a pizza, so many things that we do each day require a password. Many years ago, I used a blank notebook that I picked up at a dollar store to start recording my passwords. The book is a confusing mess, since it’s in chronological order – when I change passwords, I have to strikethrough the old one and scribble the new one underneath, or write it on an entirely different page altogether. The book is now getting so old that pages are starting to fall out of it. I’ve been intending to copy this information over to a more organized planner – so when I received a complimentary Password.log in the mail from Buttoned Up, it couldn’t have been better timing.

Password.log aims to help you keep better track of your passwords, with neatly organized boxes for you to list down all your passwords. Each slot prompts you for the site title, URL, your username, the password, and then allows a generous space to note password changes, along with the date of the change. There is also a small space where you can make any other relevant notes. I think this is SO fabulous! I won’t have to parse my confusing jumble of password information any longer, as it will all be laid out clearly. The only thing I would change about this book is that it would be nice to have the option to list information alphabetically.

If you’re in need of a good stocking stuffer for a techie guy on your list, this Password.log would make for an ideal gift!

Password.log is available on GetButtonedUp.com for $4.95.

  1. Wow this is something I need. Mine are all logged on paper as well, which is now ripped, fading and unreadable. This sounds like it would be great for stockings.

  2. Perfect! I have a ratty old notebook that the cover fell off of a long time ago…this looks like exactly what I need. Thanks for the info!

  3. I definitely need to get this for my Dad! He has this little teeny tiny notebook now where he stores his passwords! Thanks for sharing Beeb!

  4. I’m a organization junkie so I definitely need something like this. I have so many passwords to keep up with it’s getting ridiculous. Thanks for sharing!

  5. I LOVE buttoned up. They have the best ideas to stay organized, I can’t get enough!
