It’s been an extremely busy month around here. In addition to a large workload, we’ve also been taking on some extra projects, like organizing items for a garage sale and to list on eBay. With all this activity, we’ve been pretty worn out! Jai and I have been buying a lot of energy drinks to help us power through these tasks, and we’ve become “Energy drink connoisseurs”, so to speak. We’re both pretty resistant to caffeine, so we find that a lot of energy drinks don’t have much effect – a drink has to be pretty powerful to really make much of a difference. We’re always looking for new and better pick-me-ups, which is why I was interested to try Phix Energy. I received a complimentary box to test out, containing 6 individual powder sachets which you mix up with water to make your drink. Since this is an “All-natural” energy supplement, I was admittedly skeptical as to how much of an energy boost it would give me.

Phix Energy comes in three flavors: Citron, Tropic, and Teaberry. The taste was pleasant enough, similar to other powdered beverage mixes that I’ve bought in the past. Each 36-calorie serving contains a variety of vitamins and minerals, aiming to restore your vitality vis medicatrix naturae – “With natural healing powers”.

I’ve been trying out Phix over the last few days, and my overall impression is that it didn’t really increase my energy, but I didn’t fall asleep on my desk, either. I had Jai try this out for a second opinion – he drank a glass of this at 7 PM, and while he didn’t report getting amped up, I did notice that he was a little more lively and stayed up a little later than he has been lately. Meaning, he made it to 10 PM without passing out on the couch! 😉

If you’re propping your eyelid open with toothpicks and you want a jolt of energy, this is not the drink for you. But if you like the idea of supplementing your diet with vitamins and consuming a drink that won’t give you jitters, then you’ll probably enjoy Phix Energy.
