You might recall our friends at Reverse Charades from our review in 2012 of their Girls’ Night In Edition. Well, they are back with two new expansion packs: The Hollywood Edition and the Sports Edition! These are expansion packs meant to fit into the original game, which I don’t have, but you can still play it on its own – just use your own timer.
Gameplay works by splitting into teams and acting out and miming the theme of a card for another player to guess. Since I’m such a pop culture geek, I love games that have an “Entertainment” category, so I knew the Hollywood Edition would be right up my alley. The cards are really fun and varied, from classics like “Alfred Hitchcock” to current topics like “Netflix” – I think I’ll act out that one by slumping on the couch and pretending to click endlessly. 😉
The Sports Edition has prompts for everything athletic, with cards for everything from “Sumo Wrestling” to “Michael Jordan”. I am generally pretty clueless about sports – the last time there was a family game night where we picked “Sports” as a trivia category, I was on a team with some of our family’s biggest sports lovers. When it was my turn to provide clues, I didn’t even know what to tell them since I had no clue who or what I was reading…sorry guys. 😉 You probably won’t want to be stuck on a Reverse Charades: Sports Edition team with me, but I will tell you what, this is going to make an awesome gift!
