Scentsy Review: “Fright Night” Warmer & Festive Fragrances

In recent years, I’ve heard a lot about Scentsy, a line of fragrances for the home. Scentsy consultant Esther Hartsky is an advertiser on Super Coupon Girl, and she asked if I would be interested in reviewing a few Scentsy products also. I love anything scented, so of course I said yes! Esther told me to browse through her online catalog and choose a complimentary warmer and bars.

Scentsy is unique because it’s not a candle – it’s a warmer that contains a small lightbulb, which melts scented wax bars. I’ve never tried anything like this before, so I was excited to see what it would be like. I saw many cute warmers when I was surfing through the site, but when I saw their special holiday products, I knew right away that I had to have this “Fright Night” Halloween warmer:

I love decorating for the holidays, and I actually collect Halloween items and display some of them all year. This one fit my personality perfectly!

When I looked through the scented wax bars, I was spoilt for choice – there were all sorts of lovely fragrances to choose from. The first one to catch my eye was “Autumn Sunset”, a seasonal fall scent. Since I love all things Halloween, I have a soft spot for anything that smells like pumpkins and spices!

For my second choice, I browsed through the “Romance Collection” and decided on the “You Go, Girl!” bar. I love anything that smells fruity and girly, so I chose this based on the name and description.

When my box of goodies arrived, my nose was stuffed up with a cold, but I could still smell the wonderful scent wafting out of the package when I opened it! I waited a few days until my sinuses cleared a bit, and then plugged in my warmer for the first time.

The light shines through the moon on this adorable warmer and makes the perfect Halloween decoration! I broke off a brick of the “Autumn Sunset” bar, and enjoyed the scent of fall enveloping the room. This is such a festive scent, perfect for the holidays!

You can pour the melted wax back into the container once you’re ready to turn off the warmer; I thought this was going to be tricky, but it was actually very easy. I love that you can reuse the bricks – according to the website, one full Scentsy bar usually lasts between 40 to 80 hours.

“You Go, Girl!” has a wonderfully fresh scent, floral and fruity. This smells like the kind of perfume I would buy – I’m the kind of person who could spend all day at the Victoria’s Secret fragrance counter! I love this scent and can’t wait to try it in the warmer. Esther also threw in a bonus bar, “Lucky in Love”. This is another fabulous scent – light and fruity.

I can see why Scentsy products have become popular. Their unique warmer adds a warm glow and scent to your home without ever lighting a candle. Although the wax melts, it never gets very hot – according to the FAQ, “The Scentsy Wax never gets hot enough to burn anyone since we use a low watt light bulb.” This would be a great for people in dorm rooms (where candles are often banned!), or those who have children or pets that might knock candles over.

  1. That is such a pretty candle holder! I won a Scentsy warmer about 6 weeks ago….still hoping it will come in the mail bc those look so nice!

  2. That is GREAT! And I love the holder! Great review – I have heard great things about Scentsy, but I have yet to try it out…You may have just pushed me over the edge. LOL

  3. I like that it is easy to pour the wax back into the container! I have been wanting to try scentsy products for a while now!

  4. Tee – I only melt one brick at a time, and we find the fragrance to be subtle and pleasant. My house has a pretty open design, so the scent might be stronger in a smaller space, but I don’t think it’s overwhelming. I totally know what you mean about scented products that knock you out!!

Louise, I’m sad that Halloween is over too!
