ShareBytes USB Drive Giveaway – Ends 07/31 – US & Canada

Flash drives are indispensable these days. Whether you use them for work, school, or just transporting your own personal data, flash drives are a must-have tool. I recently received a complimentary package containing three different varieties of flash drives: ShareBytes, LifeBytes, and ColorBytes. Jai and I have had some time to test these out, and they are so useful and fun!

The first drive we tried out was the LifeBytes in “Tribal” design. This 8 GB drive was Jai’s favorite – he said that the drive reported itself as bootable, which means that you could theoretically put an operating system on it and use it as a small Linux system in lieu of a hard drive, although he has not yet had a chance to try this.

My personal favorite set out of the flash drives we received were these ShareBytes Devil & Angel drives. Each figure is a 4 GB flash drive which can be linked together arm in arm and then used separately. Are these not the most adorable things you’ve ever seen?! They have a variety of adorable matching “Buddy” drives for sharing with your pals, including one that is bacon and eggs. I love it!

Finally, we received a pair of ColorBytes 4 GB drives. These petite drives come with a clip so they can easily be worn on clothing or attached to your backpack. Jai ran a few speed tests on these drives: First, he copied a 170 MB file onto it, which took 30 seconds. He also also copied a folder of small photos from our security camera – roughly 3,000 photos which came to 75 MB – and that took 3 and 1/2 minutes. He says this is a pretty standard file transfer rate for flash drives.

We really liked all of these flash drives and will be putting them to good use. I love the fun, colorful designs and shapes that these come in! Another aspect that we appreciated about these drives is that they are formatted, empty, and ready to use from the moment you take them out of the package. They don’t preload the drives with a bloated backup utility or a big advertisement that hogs space – they truly are just “Plug and play”!
