You may recognize the Sibu brand from our 2012 Holiday Gift Guide, when we gave away two different sets of beauty products. I’m a big fan of these products and have been using the moisturizer as part of my daily routine since receiving it. Chocolate may seem like an odd choice for a company that specializes in lotions and face wash, but it actually fits into their “Inside/Out” theme – like the Omega 7 vitamins that they pair with their skin care gift sets, these chocolates are touted as a healthy indulgence by Sibu. The box asserts that Omega 7 oil has benefits that include “Stronger tone of skin, hair and nails” – however, as far as I can tell from their website, these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. I always have a very healthy amount of skepticism for any product of this nature, but I didn’t mind justifying the chocolate consumption by saying, “Hey, I have a breakout, I HAVE to eat it for my skin’s sake!” 😉

Each box contains 16 chocolates – 8 Milk Orange and 8 Dark Mint. These truffles are very rich treats: The orange reminds me a little bit of a grown-up version of those chocolate oranges I used to get in my Christmas stocking as a kid, and the mint is perfect for dark chocolate fans – it would be ideal as an extra-special after-dinner mint during a romantic evening! Each piece is 100 calories and, according to the box, they are also gluten-free, which makes them a good gift idea if your sweetie is on a restricted diet or prefers to eat GF.
