Slim-Fast recently introduced a brand new, resealable bottle to make it even easier to take them with you as your meal-on-the-run. I’ve always really liked Slim-Fast – when we had a Costco membership, I used to buy crates of it! It’s been a while since I’ve had any, so when Slim-Fast offered to send me a complimentary package of goodies, including a 4-pack of the newly redesigned bottles, of course I was eager to check it out!
With the holidays coming up, more and more people are thinking ahead to New Year’s resolutions – and thinking of ways to cope during the onslaught of festive food. Slim-Fast’s new packaging ditches the traditional can and replaces it with a plastic bottle that has a re-closeable screw-top lid, making it easier to transport with you as you rush around doing your holiday errands. I quite like the new bottle, and it’s been very handy having Slim-Fast around this week. I’m usually big on eating breakfast, but as my schedule has gotten more chaotic in the last few years, breakfast has gone by the wayside. The funny thing about breakfast is that even though it is the most important meal of the day, when you get out of the habit of eating it, it becomes hard to start again – you don’t feel hungry, so you don’t eat, and the cycle continues. Something like Slim-Fast is a great way for me to ease back into that when the idea of eating early in the morning is a real turn-off.
Slim-Fast also provided me with several free product coupons to stock up on their products, as I blogged about earlier on Super Coupon Girl. I got six 4-packs of shakes, 3 boxes of bars, and a canister of drink mix. I love the drink mix – you add one scoop of powder to 8 oz of milk to create your drink. I made mine with whole milk (Shh! 
) and it was so chocolatey and delicious. On the canister, they mention that you can blend this up with ice for a thicker shake – I haven’t tried this yet, but it’s a great idea. Preparing it with ice would make it taste more like a milk shake.
This was also the first time I had ever sampled Slim-Fast’s bars, and I was pretty impressed – their Chewy Chocolate Chip bar is pretty good and doesn’t give me that feeling that I’m gnawing through a brick, like some bars do. And the Peanut Butter Crunch Time bar actually tastes like candy! yum!
I’ve been drinking one Slim-Fast shake as breakfast, and since my schedule has been all over the place lately, I’ve also ended up having a shake as the main part of my dinner on a few occasions. The Slim-Fast plan recommends a daily meal plan of 3 healthy snacks, 2 shakes or bars (One at breakfast and one at lunch), and one balanced meal, but while I’ve had Slim-Fast as an addition to my lunch before, I’ve never really been able to replace it altogether – lunch seems to be an important meal for my metabolism, so just having a shake and no food as lunch doesn’t really seem to work for me. For me personally, I love Slim-Fast for breakfast and as a meal-on-the-go. It tastes great and has helped me get back onto the breakfast bandwagon and curb hunger when I’m running late between meals.

Lately I’ve been reading a lot of Kandee Johnson’s blog, a makeup artist who has a ton of amazing YouTube makeup tutorials, and I had actually been making a list of some new makeup items to buy on her recommendation so that I can try out some new techniques. She recommends Sephora frequently because they have awesome makeup, so this couldn’t have come at a better time! How about you, readers?
