I am thrilled to announce that Contest Corner is welcoming a new contributor! The latest addition to our team is Wasiilah Abdi, a journalist in the UK who will be joining us as a contributing writer. For her first piece on Contest Corner, Wasiilah is bringing us a brand new series called This Is What I Make that she has created, where she will be interviewing the next generation of creative talent, from filmmakers to poets. These exclusive interviews bring a Gen Z perspective on what a “Winning life” means to underrepresented voices. I’m so excited for you to read the first installment, which will be published tomorrow! Wasiilah Abdi is a storyteller, journalist and media student based in west London. Her work centres underrepresented voices, exploring identity, healing and faith through interviews, documentaries and digital content. She’s currently studying creative media + journalism and is passionate about telling honest stories that actually mean something.
