Now that we’re entering back-to-school season, parents are sure to want some quick meal solutions to make breakfast time a little less chaotic. To help with this, Simply Potatoes is giving one lucky Contest Corner reader a coupon for a free bag, so read on for your chance to win!
Now, we’re big fans of Simply Potatoes around here. Since we’re currently on a diet where we receive all our food pre-packaged, we can’t really deviate from our plan at the moment. (Potatoes are on our meal plan – they’re just already provided!) However, there’s one person we know who can always use a dinnertime shortcut: Grandma!
Grandma always goes to so much trouble when she makes food. Even when she says “I’ll just make a small meal,” you know you’re walking into a full roast, 10 side dishes, 3 desserts, and fine china on the table. So anything that can help her save some time on all that prep work is definitely welcomed!
I received two free product coupons for Simply Potatoes for the purposes of review and headed over to Safeway to pick up a few bags. As luck would have it, there was a “Buy One, Get One Free” sale going on, so we ended up with four bags to sample! I picked up two varieties of hash browns – Regular and Southwest Style – and diced potatoes in the Steakhouse and Onion varieties. (You can click here to check out the variety of flavors that Simply Potatoes carries – num num!)
We arrived around dinnertime, so Grandma heated up the skillet so she could make a “Breakfast-for-dinner” and sample the potatoes. She decided to try out the regular hashbrowns, which she jazzed up with some salt, pepper, and cheese.
She then scrambled two eggs in the pan with some butter, and hey presto! You’ve got yourself a full meal.
Jai and I brought our diet entrees and we all had a nice family dinner together. Grandma thought the potatoes were very tasty! You may notice that they aren’t super crispy – that’s because she cooked them to her liking, which was a little less done than some like their hash browns.
If you’re in a hurry and want a quick and easy weeknight meal, try Grandma’s dinnertime “Breakfast” for a satisfying supper. Fall comfort food at its tastiest! For more Simply-fied recipes, be sure to click here and check out the recipe section on the Simply Potatoes websites!
We have a family reunion coming up this week, and Grandma is happy to have these handy potatoes on hand as it will make whipping up breakfast for a crowd much easier. She was impressed that you can store them in the fridge for so long – they don’t need to be frozen and the ones we bought will keep until October. So no matter what you’re busy with this month, Simply Potatoes can help!
