October is Anti-Bullying Month: Resources From Captain McFinn & Friends

Captain McFinn

Today is the first day of October, which kicks off Anti-Bullying Month. This initiative has been started with the hopes of shining light on this issue and working on solutions. One such advocate is Captain McFinn and Friends, a loveable storybook series featuring the adventures of underwater pals who hope to spread the message of “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully”. In addition to print and ebooks and a sing-along CD, Captain McFinn is also debuting the S.H.A.R.K. (Students Help Achieve Respect and Kindness) Patrol initiative this fall. This educational anti-bullying program for K3 teachers hopes to offer tools to help prevent bullying.

In honor of Anti-Bullying Month, Captain McFinn would like to provide some anti-bullying resources for Contest Corner readers:

Thanks to Captain McFinn & Friends for providing me with this information & samples for consideration. Look for more on the series next month in our Holiday Gift Guide!

How do you deal with bullying?

  1. I don’t care where you go or what you do there just seems to be a bully everywhere you turn. I really like this post. My son just stood up to a bully recently.

  2. Boo on bullies. They seem to have gotten worse over the years. Used to, you could escape from them at home but now they are on twitter and facebook to plague people too.

  3. I love all the attention and promotion for Anti Bullying. I think we are an evolved enough society where we can teach kids and adults to stop acting like animals and communicate thoughtfully and talk about issues instead of threatening and harassing.
