FRAAS Scarves

There’s nothing like a fun accessory to dress up an outfit. Although we often associate scarves with winter, don’t forget that a lightweight scarf can be a fantastic accent to a spring outfit. Once such example of this is FRAAS, a company that has specialized in stylish scarves for 130 years – wow! Their Spring/Summer 2012 collection boasts a selection of versatile and airy scarves ideal for warmer weather. One of these is the new FRAAS animal print scarf:

FRAAS Animal Print Scarf

This is a very delicate and lightweight fabric perfect for summer – great for anyone who wants to experiment with animal prints without being too outrageous. Since it’s big enough to wear as a wrap, it would be a great accent to drape over shoulders with a summer dress; and of course you can fold it up for a more traditional scarf effect. It could even be tied around your waist as a sort of belt! I love the versatility of pieces like this. Believe it or not, I might actually use this as a table accent for a bachelorette party I’m hosting – it could be used to dress up a tablecloth or hung above the table as a banner, and be taken home as a sort of “Wearable decoration”.

My only criticism of this scarf is that there were some brown splotches that I noticed on the complimentary scarf that I received. I did try to wash that area but they haven’t come out, however they are so small that it won’t be noticeable while wearing. There was also a slightly larger hole in the fabric weave by the stitching where the tag is, so be aware of how delicate this fabric is.

This animal print scarf retails for $40. FRAAS scarves are available at specialty stores throughout the US; you can also order your own directly from the company by calling 212-575-0191. Select styles can be found on FRAAS.com (Site is in German) and also via Amazon (My associate link, FYI).

  1. I would LOVE the black and white one! It would go perfectly with my new coat and also a summer dress that I recently bought.

  2. I love scarves, however what you said about the holes, it happens a lot. I still wear them though, it’s worth it. 😉

  3. Ah, scarves…something I need to learn to wear. It’s too darn hot here in San Antonio to accessorize much though.
