It’s been about 5 years since my hairdresser convinced me to stop washing my hair every day. My hair used to be so oily that I couldn’t stand to go more than a day without washing it; but thanks to her urging and some dry shampoo, I was able to get through that awful transition period and stop washing my hair so much. Now it doesn’t get near as greasy and I usually wash it about every other day. Since that day, I’ve been a big fan of dry shampoos and always looking for new ones to try!
So when I received a complimentary bottle of GKhair Dry Shampoo to review, I was eager to see how it would stack up. I’ve used it many times since receiving it and I’d say it works quite well. In my experience, using dry shampoo doesn’t make me look like I’ve jumped right out of the shower, but it does certainly help. I took some before and after photos to illustrate this:
As you can tell from the sunny weather and my hair color, this photo was taken a few months ago. I don’t remember how many days I had gone without washing – I foolishly forgot to write it down! – but I remember going several days on purpose in order to really test this. Which, uh, I’m sure you can tell from how disgusting my hair looks!!!!
Here is my hair after spraying it with the dry shampoo. As you can see, it made quite a bit of difference. I realized after looking at this picture that I had not sprayed the back of my hair very thoroughly, as it was harder for me to reach and I didn’t spend much time on spraying it evenly; I think that’s why the back half looks greasier.
For anyone with a fashion & beauty maven on their list, I think this product would make a great stocking stuffer. And if your teen daughter or wife is stuck washing their hair every day, dry shampoo might even lead to a very time-saving transition like it did for me!

I really would love to try this shampoo..I loved the dry shampoo that they gave me at the hospital after I had my son and you weren’t supposed to take a bath for a while. This would be a great fix when you are on the go and don’t have time to take a shower. Love it! I loved how it made your hair look in the pictures.
You can definitely tell the difference; I’ve tried dry shampoo in the past without any luck, might have to get this a try!!

Love the before and after picture! This would have come in very handy about a month ago. I had a c-section and wasn’t able to take a shower for a few days which meant I couldn’t wash my hair either. I will have to add this to my must have list for those undergoing c-sections.
I can see the difference. It’s great to see a dry shampoo that works!
