Holiday Gift Guide 2009: Wear Your Music Fashion Bracelets Review

Many people find themselves stumped when it comes to choosing a gift for the teenagers in their lives. If you’re looking for a fun and unique present for a teen, perhaps you should consider a bracelet from Wear Your Music. These funky bracelets are actually made from recycled guitar strings – how neat is that? Wear Your Music take the strings and wind them around wire, making a bendy bracelet that is one-size-fits-all: just coil it around your wrist to fit. The bracelets are available in standard guitar string colors, and also in funky hues like purple pink. Wear Your Music also make custom “Artist Bracelets” out of guitar strings donated by musicians like Eric Clapton and John Mayer. These special bracelets start at $50, and the proceeds are donated to a charity of the artists’ choosing.

Wear Your Music sent me one of their fashion bracelets in Simply Silver to review. The bracelet comes appealing packaged in a tag shaped like a guitar pick, which I thought was really fun. The bracelet easily bent around my wrist and looked cool – but since this is made from a guitar string, the texture was accordingly bumpy, and was a little irritating to my sensitive skin. During my heavily goth period, I wore a lot of oddly-textured bracelets, so perhaps I’m not as used to it as I was.

Because of their size and neat packaging, I think these would make perfect stocking stuffers. They’re different and trendy, and could be worn with almost any style of clothes. I think that teens, fashionistas, and musicians would all enjoy this – I know there’s several people on my list who would!

Wear Your Music fashion bracelets are available on their website and range in price from $7.00 to $9.99.
