New Maroon 5 Single: “Payphone”

Maroon 5 - Payphone

Wow, what an exciting evening for Maroon 5 fans! I just got finished watching “The Voice”, where the band debuted the first single off their new album, Overexposed. (And how crazy was that episode, fellow Voice fans?? I don’t want to spoil anything, but wow!) Normally I’d crash into bed at this late hour, but I was too excited about the episode and new music so I logged online and what do you know, there was a press release in my inbox sharing all kinds of exciting news about Overexposed! First of all, I’d like to share the video for Maroon 5’s brand new song, “Payphone”:

Note to my readers, this song contains strong language.

Of course, I’m ridiculously excited anytime Maroon 5 release new music, and I’m especially pumped that they are working with one of my favorite producers, Max Martin, who you will know as the writer/producer of “…Baby One More Time”, “Oops! I Did It Again”, and a slew of other hits by Britney Spears, Ace of Base, Backstreet Boys, and way too many others to list. Overexposed comes out on June 26th, and is available to pre-order now on iTunes and Maroon 5.com – so BUY IT!!! 😉

The other exciting news is that they will be releasing a special 10th anniversary (!!) edition of Songs About Jane on June 5th that will include demos, unreleased material, videos, and more. Yep, June is going to be a good month!

  1. I watched this last night. I hate that he curses, my kids like Maroon 5 too, waiting for the radio friendly version LOL

  2. Don’t worry Melinda, there is a radio-friendly version – I actually heard a snippet of that one first so I was surprised they didn’t do that one on the show. As soon as I get a high-quality version I’ll be posting that too! 🙂

  3. Good to know they have a radio friendly version! My kids are in that ‘tween’ phase where they like cool music but I still have to be careful what they hear!

  4. My hubby and i were shocked by the choices on the Voice. Not that we didn’t agree, but surprised by who the judges chose. Not what we expected them to do.

  5. I’ve not heard of this group before. I’m sure my kids have though as I’m always stuck in the Classic Rock genre.

  6. Maryann – I KNOW!!! I was so stunned too! Can’t wait to see what unfolds next week!

Grace – Classic rock is a great genre to be stuck in! One of my favorites. 🙂
