Ocean’s Kingdom

Paul McCartney is releasing his first orchestral score for dance, Ocean’s Kingdom, which was commissioned by the New York City Ballet. The ballet tells a love story set in an underwater world whose inhabitants are threatened by humans. This beautiful hour-long work features four movements: “Ocean’s Kingdom,” “Hall of Dance,” “Imprisonment” and “Moonrise”. Check out this interview where McCartney discusses the process of creating Ocean’s Kingdom:

The ballet premiered last week during New York City Ballet’s Fall Gala; the orchestral score will be available for purchase on CD and vinyl as well as digitally on October 4th – click here to pre-order it now. Ocean’s Kingdom is an atmospheric score that will touch fans of all musical persuasions; be sure to give it a listen when it is released next week.
