Review: Caress Skin Wear Collection

I have quite a love affair with bath and body products, so I was looking forward to reviewing the new line of Caress bodywash, the “Skin Wear” collection. I recently tested out the Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash in Burnt Brown Sugar and Karite Butter – I’m big on exfoliants, so I was interested to see how this would stack up. In fact, it’s kind of a joke with anyone who knows me: they’ll get me different exfoliants for Christmas or birthday gifts. But when you have dry skin like I do, you need it. My skin will start to flake if I don’t use an exfoliator, and that’s just gross.

So I poured some “Evenly Gorgeous” on my bath pouf during my last shower to test it out. It has a really creamy texture – it looks almost like toffee, and I loved the sweet smell. The creaminess is punctuated by little exfoliating beads, and as I lathered up I could feel them working to smooth my skin. Sometimes these all-in-one bodywash/exfoliant combos can be a little weak on the exfoliating side, but I thought this did a pretty good job.

My favorite part of this bodywash was the scent! It smells heavenly, and a little bit goes a long way. It felt like a nice, pampering little treat – I’ve always found body products to be a great pick-me-up, which is why I’m such an enthusiast!
Best of all, the scent from this bodywash stayed on my skin after I got out of the shower. One of my big complaints with most shower gels is the fact that the scent usually disappears after I wash them off. But after using “Evenly Gorgeous”, I could still smell the aroma on my skin long after my shower was over. I think they should release a line of lotions & body sprays to go with it, because I was reluctant to cover the nice scent up with perfume after I dressed!

Caress have a few promotions running to help launch the Skin Wear Collection. They have a sweepstakes on their website where you can enter for a weekly chance at a $100 gift card, as well as a chance at the grand prize – a trip for two to NYC’s Fashion Week for “The royal fashionista VIP treatment”: three nights at a swanky hotel, a $500 shopping spree for you and a friend, a fashion consultation with Carson Kressley, tickets to a fashion show, and a VIP party. Sounds like fun to me! Click here to enter.

You can also create your own cartoon avatar on the “Virtual You!” section of their website. An animated version of Carson Kressley guides you through the process, and helps you make a virtual representation of yourself. The picture on the left is me in cartoon form!
