Review: Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes

I have very sensitive skin, and as a result, I have to be very particular about which makeup removers I use. It has to be gentle enough not to irritate my skin, but effective enough to remove my makeup; and I love playing with cosmetics, so I wear a lot of it. I’ve tried many different makeup removers, and had some awful reactions. I recall one makeup wipe which caused such irritation that I looked like I had been punched in the face – not quite the look I was going for! Through the process of elimination, I settled on Olay’s makeup remover line, and haven’t tried any others for about five years – I was too scared of what would happen to my skin! But when I had a chance to try out Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes, I thought, “Why not”. It’s been a long time since I tried out any other brands, and I was curious to see how gentle and effective it really was.

In order to properly test these, I used the whole package (30 towelettes) over the course of a month, to see if I developed any reactions. I am very pleased to report that I experienced no irritation or rash using these – it was truly suitable for my sensitive skin, which was a relief after the disasters I’ve had. And it’s doubly hard to find anything effective, because my makeup removers have to be extremely gentle, but also remove heavy-duty makeup, since I live in 16-hour waterproof black eyeliner. The Pond’s Towelettes did a pretty good job; it took me longer than normal to get my makeup off, because I had to keep rubbing at the eyeliner to remove it. There were also traces of makeup under my eyes that didn’t come off – and I’ve found that all makeup removers leave some trace behind, but it seemed a little more noticeable with these.

I don’t plan on switching brands, but I am confident that I will be purchasing Pond’s in the future as well as my normal Olay. I’m just so happy to know that there is one other makeup remover that I can use without irritating my skin – and I do note that these are a little less expensive, especially if you use this coupon.
