I’ve tried some unusual products in my quest for the latest and greatest skin care. The most recent was a set of products I received from VB Beauty, containing a jar each of Phyto Stem Cell Wrinkle Spot and Miracle Eye Treatment Crème and a “Sonic Infusor”, packaged in a cute clutch bag. (Note: Both products are sold separately on the site, but I know they are rolling out some new products this summer, so I have the feeling the duo set will be available to buy soon. I’ll update you when I find out!)

The infusor is essentially a silicone applicator that vibrates when switched on. You apply each cream to your face and then to the tip of the infusor, switching on and applying for a few minutes over the specified areas. I’ve seen these type of devices gaining popularity in recent years but have never tried them myself out of the fear that they would be too harsh on my delicate skin, but I was surprised to find that it felt good – like a massage! It didn’t cause any irritation to my skin even after 7+ days.

So, what did the products do? Well, the eye crème is billed as reducing dark circles and wrinkles. The instructions that came with it said to use it every day for about a week, then three times a week afterwards for maintenance; the website also expands on that information a little more and says that you should see wrinkle reduction in 28 days. I wish I had known that sooner, as I would have used it differently in order to review it properly – I thought I would have achieved the maximum results after 7 days. They make some pretty big claims on the site, such as “Almost 100% reduction of crow’s feet”, but I don’t see any information pointing to these clinical tests they reference. The product also says that it will reduce dark circles. For me personally, dark circles are hereditary and I don’t think it’s possible to get rid of them with anything other than amazing makeup (Trust me, I’ve tried!). The infusor did appear to temporarily smooth out some of the fine lines that are beginning to form around my eye, but I think this is just a temporary reduction rather than a magic eraser for wrinkles, if you know what I mean. But I’m all for any tricks I can do to freshen my face – just be aware that in my opinion, it was more of a subtle thing. Now that I know that you’re meant to use it for 28 days for full results, I will pay attention and see how my skin looks in another month, but I don’t expect it to be all that different.

The wrinkle spot crème is the same type of concept, but can be used on other areas of the face. I put it on my forehead lines and find that it makes a good warmup treatment to using my Frownies, since you’re supposed to massage the area before applying those anyway. I didn’t really notice any change with regards to my forehead wrinkles.

Have you ever tried an infusor before?

  1. I haven’t tried an infuser. I have dark circles under my eyes but also on my lids extending out a bit. It almost looks like I have eye shadow on even when I don’t. I’ve yet to find a product that helps.
