As I’ve mentioned previously, my dad and I are both fans of The Beatles and Sir Paul McCartney. We are also vinyl purists and already own the original Band on the Run record, so I normally wouldn’t bother with a CD reissue since I have the original already. However, this special edition offers much more than just a standard re-release – it also boasts a 2nd CD filled with bonus tracks and a DVD which features music videos, rare footage and behind-the-scenes-oddities, as well as One Hand Clapping, a television special featuring studio performances filmed at Abbey Road in 1974. I think this special edition release is a great gift idea, because it offers enough new and interesting content to be appreciated by those who already know and love the album, while remaining accessible to those who are just getting into Wings. I’m going to surprise my dad with this collection for Christmas!
