McCartney and McCartney II Remastered Editions Review

McCartney

McCartney II

MPL and the Concord Music Group have announced that McCartney and McCartney II are set to be the next releases in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection, dropping on June 14th. Both albums have been remastered and include a second CD of bonus material, including B-sides, unreleased outtakes, and live performances. This is the latest in a series of re-releases from the Paul McCartney Archive Collection – you may recall that I reviewed the Band on the Run Special Edition last year. These classic albums are being introduced to the next generation, and include enough new content to be enjoyed by longtime fans. I’ve said before that I’m a vinyl purist, and I prefer to listen to the original records rather than remastered CDs. However, what makes this series special in my opinion is the inclusion of all the bonus material – being able to hear previously unreleased tracks will be of interest to any fan. I enjoyed checking out these reissues, and look forward to seeing what will be re-released next in the Paul McCartney Archive Collection. Plus, you can’t play vinyl in your car, so I guess CDs are better for some applications! 😀
